Education is now so politically complicated that student teachers are being offered a summer school paper in it.

The Politics of Education is being offered by the University of Canterbury because ‘Education is a highly contested activity.

‘There are questions around who should learn, what should be taught, availablity and accessibility.’

The paper is being taught by Dr Liz Gordon, an education academic who was an MP for the Alliance in the 1990s. She has also been Pro-Chancellor at Massey University.
